EwasteWiz' No Landfill Policy and Carbon Emissions Management
Ewastewiz, per California law, strictly adheres to a "No Landfill Policy" which is a strategy for business to realign themselves with green and sustainable environmental practices. The goal is for businesses to send NO TRASH to the landfill. This can be accomplished by redesigning products and processes, and also by responsible corporate governance. For example all "trash" must be sorted and sent off to respective industry recyclers for reuse or recycling.
EwasteWiz, to help define its mission, uses this definition directly from the 2004 Zero Waste International Alliance: "Zero Waste is a goal that is ethical, economical, efficient and visionary, to guide people in changing their lifestyles and practices to emulate sustainable natural cycles, where all discarded materials are designed to become resources for others to use. Zero Waste means designing and managing products and processes to systematically avoid and eliminate the volume and toxicity of waste and materials, conserve and recover all resources, and not burn or bury them. Implementing Zero Waste will eliminate all discharges to land, water or air that are a threat to planetary, human, animal or plant health."
EwasteWiz corporate policy towards carbon emissions is best practices management. The basic science of carbon footprints easily tells us that reusing equipment is far more environmentally sound then recycling e-waste into raw materials.
In fact, most of the carbon footprint of a desktop computer comes from the manufacturing of the computer; not the electricity in using it or the energy in recycling of it.
As part of our on-going program to measure our impact on the environment, EwasteWiz continually measures and improves upon these environmental metrics:
